After FWD Hong Kong going live<\/a> with its digital travel insurance policies last week, we are so excited to announce that another insurance company -Sompo Insurance Thailand- also unveiled its own digital travel insurance policies compatible with mobile wallet. Any customer who purchases SOMPO travel insurance<\/a> will be now able to instantly store and access their digital travel policy directly from their phones.<\/p>\n

The Innovation<\/h3>\n

When you purchase a ‘regular’ insurance, you receive a TON of papers with your insurance plastic card, a booklet listing all of your benefits, coverage, contact information etc.\u00a0SOMPO Thailand\u00a0just eliminated and condensed all of that into a single, digital travel insurance policy that can be accessed from mobile wallet<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Customer Experience<\/h3>\n

1. Customers visit the SOMPO Thailand travel page<\/a>\u00a0and select their travel dates.

\n2. Customers then select a plan they would like to purchase.
\n\"Screen
\n3. Customers fill in their personal and payment details and get to the ‘review order’ section.
\n\"Screen
\n4. After payment, customers receive a confirmation SMS with a link\u00a0that redirects to their mobile insurance pass. Note: Personal info have been hidden\u00a0for privacy purposes.

\n5. Here’s how the pass looks like.

\n6. The back of the pass contains a summary of the policy details, as well as useful info for the traveller.
\n\"3\"
\n7. On the back of the pass you will also find your full policy in PDF format, as well as embassy contacts, tourist suggestions and how to make a claim in case it’s needed (see picture below).

\n8. When customers tap on the ‘Nearby Places’ links on the back they are redirected to the specific relevant suggestions they are looking for. In the example below there’s a google maps screen showing restaurants in the vicinities.

\nWe are finally entering a new phase in history where customers no longer need to carry around insurance plastic cards or dig through pages and pages of booklets to find information. Everything that is needed can all be accessed via the digital insurance policy through your phone. One very simple tap away.<\/p>\n
