Wireless charging, NASA’s big news, the BlackBerry Android device gets a name and more in this weeks \u2018Weekend In Tech Trends\u2019.<\/p>\n

Tech Trends 1- True wireless charging will\u00a0be available in the near future<\/h4>\n

Even with all the upgrades to the iPhone 6s<\/a>, the number one complaint about smartphones remains the same. Poor battery life<\/a>. But one company may have a solution. Technovator<\/a> is looking to release what is being called a \u201cpower router\u201d that will be able to charge your phone wirelessly. Just as if you could charge your phone over Wi-Fi.
\nIt works through resonant electromagnetic fields. \u201cElectric power is transmitted wirelessly between two transmission coils that operate in a resonant mode. It\u2019s the same basic principle as a radio receiver, a mobile data connection, or Wi-Fi, it\u2019s just a different frequency.\u201d As explained by Digital Trends. The user receiving the signals would have a special phone case on their phone that would allow the signals to be turned into power. It boasts a range of 17 feet. The further away you are the longer it takes. As of now, from 5 to 6 feet away, a full charge will take around 4 to 6 hours. And with a price tag of $200 for a base station and a phone case, we may not see mass adoption for awhile. But at least it\u2019s a step in the right direction for truly wireless charging.

Tech Trends 2- iPhone 6s has been released and it could be awhile before you get one<\/h4>\n

As the first release out of the new line of Apple products, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus officially went on sale on Friday. Except for this lucky customer who received their pre-order days early.<\/a> For those of you who couldn\u2019t get your hands on the new rose gold iPhone 6s(or any color for the matter) you could be waiting awhile. Apple is saying 1-2 weeks to ship, which would have you waiting until mid-October. So if you\u2019re looking to upgrade and you come across iPhones that are in stock, it\u2019s probably best that you buy it.

Tech Trends 3- NASA has a big announcement to make today claiming “Mars Mystery Solved”<\/h4>\n

NASA<\/a> has an event scheduled for today that will reveal big news about Mars. The press release<\/a> that touts, “Mars Mystery Solved,” gives no other clues to what it could be. But some say that it is most likely a discovery about waters existence on the planet. While water has been known on Mars for years, people believe this could be more tangible evidence beyond photos. Whatever the announcement may be, we will know soon. The announcement is scheduled for 11:30 am eastern time.

Tech Trends 4- BlackBerry has announced the name of its Android based smartphone.<\/h4>\n

It\u2019s official, Blackberry<\/a>, the long forgotten about phone company,\u00a0has announced the name of their Android powered handset. \u00a0BlackBerry CEO John Chen confirmed within the second quarter financial results, “Today, I am confirming our plans to launch Priv, an Android device named after BlackBerry\u2019s heritage and core mission of protecting our customers\u2019 privacy,” wrote Chen. “Priv combines the best of BlackBerry security and productivity with the expansive mobile application ecosystem available on the Android platform.”
\nBlackBerry believes that the Priv will provide \u201cmodest sequential revenue growth” in the remaining quarters of the fiscal year. More details are soon to be released and BlackBerry says it\u2019s still on schedule for a release later this year. The main question will be revolved around whether or not anyone is actually going to buy one of these. Check out the video below to see whether or not this is something you might buy.
