A mobile moment is a point in time and space when someone pulls out a mobile device to get what they want in that immediate and specific context.<br \/>\nThis creates an actual gap between what consumers expect and what businesses and shops are actually delivering.<br \/>\nThe opportunity is huge; it can help drive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>traffic<\/li>\n<li>proximity marketing strategies<\/li>\n<li>real-time and dynamic retail<\/li>\n<li>in-store piloted behaviours<\/li>\n<li>insights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An increasing number (around 70% in the US) of smartphone owners say they search shops, goods and services at least weekly or more, a number that exponentially increases when looking at younger users.<br \/>\n<b><i>An astounding 80% of local shopping searches via mobile convert<\/i><\/b><br \/>\nWhat information adds more value to the customer? More than half want to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>take a look at reviews,<\/li>\n<li>see the opening hours,<\/li>\n<li>ratings,<\/li>\n<li>address and directions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27\"><strong>What does this shift mean for marketers?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To bridge that gap between consumers expectations and what brands provide, businesses should make sure they&#8217;re connecting the most recent and accurate business-related information. This includes search engine results, Apps and maps listings, and any other listings across the local search ecosystem.<br \/>\nThree major points should be considered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>What<\/b>\u00a0do target consumers look for exactly?<\/li>\n<li><b>How<\/b>\u00a0do customers find the shop?<\/li>\n<li><b>What\u00a0<\/b>should the business offer to users? Identify an optimal offer based on user intent and behaviours (<a href=\"http:\/\/passkit.com\/cherrypie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here to find out more<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Marketers can also use locations to trigger push notifications or ads, which helps solve an immediate purchasing need for consumers. This strategy can be implemented via Beacon Technology and\/or GPS.<\/p>\n<h3 data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27\"><strong>How can you deliver on consumers\u2019 expectations?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Mobile plays a large role brand loyalty, as it has accelerated consumers\u2019 expectations on brands&#8217; offerings.
