The wearables industry is just warming up

Right now, there are a number of different smartwatches on the market. And many more are set to be released throughout 2016. But even with all the different options, there still hasn’t been an option for people who still want to wear a classic watch. Until now.
The Link smart clasp gives people the ability to have a smartwatch paired with their favorite classic watch. The Link is the same as other smartwatches as it connects via bluetooth and even can make payments via NFC. Check out the video below to see the Link in action.

Why is this important?

This is important because it continues to show that companies are putting a lot of money into the future of the wearable industry. While wearables have received some negative criticism for low initial adoption rates, adoption rates are on the rise. This industry is something that you are going to want to pay close attention to throughout the rest of 2016. With more smartwatches and futuristic tech like the Link being released, wearables will become an extremely relevant part of your marketing strategy.

Instagram carousel ads now support videos

According to a recent release from Instagram, Taco Bell, Airbnb, Macy’s and ASOS have begun testing video ads in the carousel. The carousel ad format itself isn’t new; Instagram launched it more than a year ago, but only with still images.
Carousel ads can now be a combination of photos and videos and can run up to 60 seconds worth of content. While the new feature is only being tested with a few select brands, “general availability will be released in a couple of weeks.”

Why is this important?

Instagrams new feature gives brands another way to stand out to their customers and gain more followers. Instagram has proven to be an extremely powerful tool for marketers in the past and this will further help brands expand their social media reach. Stay on the lookout for full updates.
