Indoor Mapping
Indoor mapping is now available, offering precise location mapping. When combined with iBeacon technology this delivers even more relevant experiences to visitors and customers.
Location Services
Location Services has been enhanced allowing greater privacy and choice to the device owner.
Passbook iOS8
Passbook remains core to the iOS platform, with tight integration to apps and iBeacon technology, and a subtle change to the Pass scanning tool.
Touch ID
Touch ID can be used by 3rd party apps for verification, purchases, and protecting user data – making it more convenient and secure for both users and businesses.
HomeKit
Apple introduced HomeKit, a smart-home automation framework that allows users to control devices, switches, and locks. This framework is not just relevant to the Home.
Swift
A new programming language has been released – Swift – making it easier for developers to engineer engaging apps and integrate PassKit technology.
