Tech Trends 1- NASA is developing self healing metal

NASA is pushing the boundaries in more than just space exploration. Researchers from NASA’s Langley Research Center have been studying materials that can self-heal in a matter of seconds. The materials are being developed so that space shuttle will be able to recover from hits from space debris. The material is able to react on impact and recover in less than a second. NASA was happy to announce a successful test of the material using a bullet. While the test was on an early prototype and only used a bullet for the impact, it has given scientists a lot of promise and they believe it will be ready by the next manned space mission. Check out the material in action in the video below.

Tech Trends 4- Inside the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule

SpaceX has given us the first glimpse into the Crew Dragon capsule that will transport astronauts to the ISS. Complete with temperature control, and seats made with “the highest-grade carbon fiber and Alcantara cloth.” The Crew Dragon capsule is looking like it could be the most comfortable ride into space to date. But it’s not all about comfort, in true Elon Musk fashion the Crew Dragon’s design looks like the inside of a modern day Starfighter. But enough with the description, check out the video below to see it for yourself.
