Hey everyone this is Wendy from PassKit and today we’re going to share with you how your competitors are using mobile wallet.
Aeroflot is the flag carrier and largest airline of the Russian Federation, offering global flight services. Aeroflot designed a boarding pass template that can be issued to customers straight from their app. Now this boarding pass can be downloaded by customer straight into their mobile wallet app, such as Passbook. Once the customer gets to the airport, they simply show their boarding pass, check in and all the relevant flight information gets updated on their pass. Aeroflot used their app and incorporated digital boarding passes in it. By doing this, Aeroflot transitioned from paper to digital boarding passes, and created an even more streamlined customer experience.
Marks and Spencer is a multinational retailer that specializes in clothing, food products and luxury food. They issued digital coupons that customers can easily redeem within the smartphone. With digital coupons, Marks and Spencer was able to send push notifications and updates to their customers, notifying them on new deals and promotions. Marks and Spencer was the first major retailer in the UK to incorporate Passbook. This attracted new customers and increase brand awareness. By transitioning from paper coupons to digital coupons, Marks and Spencer was able to reduce distribution costs.
Harvester is a farm house family styled restaurant in the UK. They created digital discount coupons to be used at any one of its 200 plus stores. They were even able to issue 16000 vouchers over a 2 week campaign. So what was the outcome of that? Almost 700 vouchers were redeemed over the course of the campaign. By using digital coupons, Harvester had access to real time data and analytics on their campaign across 200 of its stores.
Starwood Hotels is one of the world’s largest hotel and leisure companies. It owns, operates, manages, and franchises a range of hotel and leisure companies. Guests can add their membership card to Passbook, allowing them to see their membership details, rewards points, and much more. They can also add their stay pass to their smartphone, which allows them to view their reservations. Here’s a fun fact! Starwood Hotels was the first to introduce keyless hotel room entries, allowing their guests to use their smartphone as their key. Starwood Hotels uses 12 templates to create over 1000 Passbook passes, which includes tiered membership cards and their Stay Pass. By combining mobile wallet with their app, Starwood has been able to create seamless experiences for their guests. Digitalizing the entire booking and check in process has freed up employees time, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. It has completely transformed the guests first interaction with the hotel, from transactional to personal.
Fandango allows moviegoers to buy tickets, watch trailers, and read movie reviews. Customers can buy their movie tickets online, or through the Fandango app, which allows them to instantly add their movie ticket to Passbook. More than 2600 theaters across the US support this mobile ticketing service. So what’s the outcome? Mobile transactions now account for over 30% of Fandango’s sales. And there’s been a 43% increase in the number of passes downloaded. The movie experience has been enhanced for customers as they no longer need to line up to purchase tickets.
So now you have it. You’ve seen how 5 businesses across different industries have incorporated and used Passbook and mobile wallet. You can do the same today.
